About Us

Elephant Tags began with a simple conversation with a close friend.
She realised that if her phone was lost or ran out of battery, she wouldn’t remember her husband’s or teenage children’s phone numbers—and doubted they’d know hers either.
It struck a chord with me. During a spell of extremely hot weather, I’d noticed my own phone battery draining much faster than usual, and I realised I couldn’t remember my children’s numbers either. I’d taught them my number when they were younger, but had no idea if they still remembered it.
Like parents everywhere, I worry about my children when they’re away from home, particularly at a time when phone theft is increasingly common. But I also realised how vulnerable I’d feel if my own phone was stolen, or simply unavailable. Without it, I’d have no easy way to contact my children or family in an emergency.
I made a passing comment about needing little tags with important phone numbers on them—just in case. That simple idea grew into something much bigger over the days and weeks that followed.
The more I thought about it, the more I realised how useful these little tags could be for almost anyone, regardless of age or how vulnerable they might consider themselves. They offer a small but reassuring safety net in a world where we’ve become so dependent on our phones.
And so, Elephant Tags was born.
The name came naturally: elephants are known for never forgetting. The idea carries through into the logo design, with a playful twist on the idea of a knotted tail instead of the traditional knotted trunk. With a background in art, I've always been interested in design, so developing the tags and their visual identity was a natural part of bringing the idea to life. I also wanted to make more considered, eco-friendly choices where I could, including appealing, plastic-free packaging, while keeping the product affordable.
What started as a passing thought has become a business I truly believe in. I’m incredibly proud of the little acorn of an idea that has grown into Elephant Tags, and excited about where it can go next.
